BLAKE PRUITT
Blake Pruitt is a writer, director, editor, producer, activist, and drag performer living in New York City. He's a graduate of the Maurice Kanbar Institute of Film & Television at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts.
His short documentary 20MALEGAYNYC was featured on Andrew Sullivan's The Daily Dish, The Advocate, and The Huffington Post, as well as film festivals internationally. A subsequent web series about young gay life, Male Gays, aired on LogoTV.com; that was followed by a UK spinoff: 20MALEGAY.
His experimental short camchat screened at film festivals in the US, Canada, and Europe. Blake’s short doc for Logo TV about intergenerational dating among gay men has over 1.5 million views on YouTube.
Blake's narrative short Read Aloud had its world premiere at NewFest 2015.
Blake is the proud Associate Producer of Stephen Winter’s Jason and Shirley, which premiered at BAMcinemaFest had a theatrical run at the MoMA in 2015.
Blake produced four music videos from the 2015 Christmas Queens album (Katya, Sharon Needles, Jiggly Caliente, and Ginger Minj). He produced and appeared in the music video for of Montreal's It's Different for Girls.
Most recently, Blake has worked in episodic television as Post Production Coordinator on Evil and Mr. Mayor, in feature films as Apprentice Editor on Fire Island, and Assistant Editor on Providence and Dust.
Blake been a working drag performer for over five years, during which time she’s produced and performed in my his shows ranging from brunch to political fundraisers to large-scale drag competitions.
